It is easy to find information about teaching a dog to sit or lie down or come when called. Brenda will show you a coherent plan that will evolve a sounder and deeper relationship with your dog. 
 
 
This clinic will emphasize using the dog's language as feedback for your training: The way the dog orients his body, his nose, recognizing a "silhouette" in order to monitor behaviour of other dogs in the area; all this and more will be covered in as much detail as I can in a short weekend.
 
There will be many Relationship-based exercises, as well as pertinent learning theory topics covered.
 
These exercises become a venue for trust and respect between dog and handler. They are designed to negotiate with the dog in his own language about instinctive behaviours (impulse control and the opposition reflex). 
 
The teaching emphasis is on watching “intention behaviours” – using them to predict what will happen next and as the dog’s feedback in the training conversation. Learn how to manipulate “air space” – and use the dog’s body language as effective feedback. The dog’s own language thereby enhances communication with people.

Brenda Aloff
Brenda is a professional dog trainer specializing in problem behaviours. Brenda’s practice includes group classes and private consults. Often Brenda works with owners referred by veterinarians re-socializing to re-socialize dogs with severe fearful or aggression behaviours.
 
At this clinic, Brenda will share her unique approach for accessing instinctive dog behaviour and changing the paradigm. Learn how to see situations as the dog perceives them, thus equipping you to help a wider variety of tools to work with dogs. Discover how emotion affects the training process. Brenda will teach us to understand Dog Body Language. Both the experienced professional trainer and the serious dog owner will appreciate Brenda’s sense of humor as well as her wide base of experience. 
 
Humane Societies, Shelterworkers and Search and Rescue personel love these clinics. We have had excellent feedback from them in regards to how these exercises and knowledge aid them in their daily work.

Up to eight dogs will participate during the sessions. There is an additional $100.00 fee per dog (FULL) for the workshop. There will be limited attendee space available; on a first registration received basis.
